Frisman Jackson has joined Baylor University as wide receivers coach after one season in the same role with the Titans, the school announced.

The Titans ranked 23rd in the NFL in passing offense this season. Tight end Delanie Walker led the team with 74 catches and 807 receiving yards, and his three touchdown catches were second-most, behind veteran Rishard Matthews, who had four.

Rookie wide receiver Corey Davis, the fifth overall pick in the draft, managed just 34 catches for 375 yards in 11 regular season games. He caught his first two career touchdowns in the team's AFC divisional playoff loss to the Patriots, after having a would-be score knocked from his grasp in the team's victory against the Bengals on Nov 12.

Fellow rookie wide receiver Taywan Taylor, drafted in the third round, had just 16 catches for 231 yards and a score.

The Titans fired head coach Mike Mularkey on Monday and have since interviewed three candidates for the position – Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel, Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks and Rams offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur.

Mularkey’s assistants are under contract through next season.

Jackson, who played wide receiver for the Browns under Titans offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie, is the first to leave. He is reuniting with Baylor head coach Matt Rhule after they worked together at Temple.

Legendary defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau, 80, is taking a “wait-and-see” approach to the coaching hire and whether he’s asked to return before deciding about possible retirement.
