HONORABLE MENTION
Graham Lemke, Greendale: The junior, who attends Waterford, helped the Ice Force get its first victory of 2018 by recording three goals and an assist in a 6-0 victory over Green Bay United Saturday.
Cade Knoeppel, Cedarburg: The Bulldogs senior forward scored twice in a 4-1 victory over Sheboygan on Jan. 10 before getting goals in losses to La Crosse Aquinas/Holmen Friday and Onalaska Saturday.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Waukesha: The Wings defeated two teams ranked in the wisconsinprephockey.net top 10 last week, getting the best of third-ranked University School, 3-1, Jan. 9 and defeating seventh-ranked Green Bay Notre Dame, 3-2, last Friday. The victory over University School gave Waukesha control of the Classic 8 race and is the reason we have a new area No. 1 this week. The Wings dominated the meeting, scoring the contest’s first three goals and not allowing a score until the 10-minute 10-second mark of the final period. Junior forward Chad Larsen (one goal, one assist) and junior defenseman Douglas Kirkhofer (two assists) scored two points in the matchup. Larsen assisted junior forward Trenton Tucker on the game’s first goal at the 1:56 mark of the first period and Kirkhofer assisted Thomas Knoke, a junior forward, at 9:40 of the second to make it a 2-0 game. Junior goalkeeper Garrett Larsen made 37 saves.
