Collier woman says homeless man raped her after she let him use her bathroom

A homeless man was arrested Wednesday after a woman said he sexually battered her in her home after she let him use her bathroom, Collier County deputies reported.

Willie Lester

Willie Lester, 35, faces felony charges of sexual battery, aggravated battery using a deadly weapon and kidnapping-false imprisonment of an adult, according to a Collier Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Lester was taken to the Naples Jail Center, where he remained Thursday evening with bail set at $1.5 million. At the time of the alleged crime, Lester was out on bond related to October charges of drug possession, criminal mischief and trespassing; a judge on Thursday revoked his bond in that case.

Detectives responded to Physician's Regional Medical Center on Collier Boulevard in East Naples at 7:23 a.m. in reference to a report of a sexual battery, the arrest report states.

A woman there told detectives that she was walking her dog between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. that day when she was approached by Lester, whom she has known as an acquaintance for about two years.

After talking outside briefly, Lester asked the woman whether he could use her bathroom, the report states.

After Lester used her bathroom, the woman and Lester "began talking and hanging out while smoking cigarettes," according to the report.

About 3:45 a.m., the woman told Lester that she was going to bed and assumed he would leave, the report states.

She told detectives that she went into her bedroom, closed the door and went to bed. Moments later, Lester entered the room, lay down beside her and began "rubbing up on her" as she was facing away from him, according to the report.

The woman told Lester to stop and shoved his arm away, the report states.

Lester then grabbed the woman from behind and put her in a choke hold, restricting her breathing to the point she "felt as if she was going to pass out," according to the report.

The woman told detectives that just as she thought she was going to lose consciousness, Lester "loosened his grip and then cut the right side of her throat with a razor blade," causing her to bleed, the report states.

The woman asked Lester why he would do that, continued to talk to him and feared he was going to kill her, according to the report.

Lester then went into the kitchen and got two knives, returned to the bedroom, closed and locked the door and had the woman undress, the report states.

The woman told detectives she complied out of fear and that Lester had sexual intercourse with her.

Lester continued to stay at the home afterward "and his behavior was constantly changing from calm to aggravated," according to the report.

The woman told detectives she continued to talk and plead with Lester, "believing that he was going to kill her and dispose of her body," the report states.

About 6:10 a.m., the woman told Lester that her mother was coming home and he left the residence, according to the report.

Detectives wrote they observed a laceration to the right side of her neck, bruising to both shoulder areas and scratches to her right shoulder blade.

After the woman identified Lester, deputies put out a be-on-the-lookout alert and found him shortly after 4 p.m., the report states.

When detectives interviewed Lester, he said he had sexual intercourse with the woman "but denied having caused any of the injuries," according to the report.
