Jordan Schroeder of the Iowa Wild and Felix Girard of the Milwaukee Admirals take the opening faceoff for the Admirals' return to the UWM Panther Arena in 2016.

Milwaukee Admirals home games will appear on live television in the market for the first time in nearly 30 years, the team announced Wednesday.

Spectrum Sports is scheduled to carry games at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27 against the Ontario Reign and the second at 5 p.m. Feb. 11 against the Stockton Heat at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

“This is a tremendous step forward for the visibility of our organization,” team owner Harris Turer said in the announcement. “Having games on Spectrum Sports allows us to expose new fans to our tremendous product, both on and off the ice. We look forward to a successful launch of TV games and then to build on that momentum.”

Aaron Sims, who calls Admirals games on radio, will handle the TV play-by-play duties with former Admirals goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris serving as his color analyst. Ryan Miller will fill in for Sims on the radio broadcasts on WSSP (FM 105.7).

The last time an Admirals home game was broadcast live was the 1998-’99 season. The Admirals have shown replays of games on Spectrum Sports for years and will continue to so, the organization said.
