Three wounded in shootout among five shot in separate incidents in Milwaukee

Five people were wounded in three separate shootings in Milwaukee on Wednesday and Thursday, one of which was a shootout involving three of the wounded, police said.

According to Milwaukee police:

The shootout was reported at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of W. North Ave., where a 36-year-old man was shot by two men, ages 26 and 32, before returning fire and wounding both.

The three men suffered injuries that are not life-threatening and were taken into custody.

About 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, a 20-year-old man who was a passenger in a vehicle was shot in the 2500 block of N. 39th St. The man was taken to a hospital by a friend and is expected to survive.

And a 17-year-old boy was shot shortly before 9:30 a.m. Thursday at an undetermined location. The teen was driven to the 2900 block of N. 44th St. and from there was taken to a hospital.

He suffered an injury that is not life-threatening, according to police.
