Police log: PSP investigating sexual assault of minor

ST. THOMAS TOWNSHIP - Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg, is investigating an incident in which a known suspect sexually assaulted a juvenile between Nov. 23-26 on Cumberland Circle. No other information was provided in a police report.

HARASSMENT: Joseph Adam Daywalt, 49, and Jesse Alan Daywalt, 21, both of Fayetteville, were each charged with harassment in connection with a physical altercation between the pair and a Chambersburg man the evening of Jan. 2 on Spruce Road in Quincy Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg.

THEFT: Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg, responded to a report at 7:16 a.m. Jan. 9 in Metal Township, alleging that Timothy Bear Baker, 36, Fannettsburg, took a vehicle he had agreed to purchase but had not yet paid for, then fled to Virginia and has allegedly not contacted the owner of the vehicle. Call state police at 717-264-5161 with information.

THEFT BY DECEPTION: A Sprint account was fraudulently opened under a Chambersburg woman's name sometime between Feb. 22, 2017 and Jan. 9, and four or five new iPhones were bought on it before the account was closed, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Someone went onto a property in the 9000 block of Gilbert Road, Hamilton Township, between 11 a.m. and 12:15 pm. Nov. 10 and made large puncture marks on the tires of the vehicles there, causing $290 in damage, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg.

BURGLARY: Michael Rhodes Jr., Chambersburg, faces a burglary charge after police searching for evidence of a reported burglary on Jan. 12 on South Main Street encountered him and found him in possession of the missing belongings, according to Chambersburg Police.  He was taken to Franklin County Jail to await arraignment.

THREATS: A juvenile was charged with terroristic threats after posting to the social media app Snapchat a threat referencing "shooting up" a local school on Jan. 15, according to Chambersburg Police. Police received several complaints about the post. 

Cumberland County

THEFTS FROM VEHICLES: Items, including a brown leather wallet and audio equipment, were stolen from two vehicles between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Jan. 11, one at 15 E. Burd St. and the other in the 100 block of North Apple Avenue, according to Shippensburg Police. One of the vehicles was entered by the passenger-side window being broken out.

Fulton County

CRASH: A Warfordsburg man suffered a serious head injury when he crashed into a tree after failing to negotiate a right curve on Bradshaw Road the morning of Jan. 15 in Belfast Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg. Scott Mosemann, 32, was taken to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
