"I got involved in something I shouldn't have," a woman told police officers.

But she would not tell them much more than that.

Town of Brookfield police were dispatched at 2:22 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Hampton Inn, 575 N. Barker Road, for a report of vandalism. As officers opened the door, they discovered what appeared to be a crime scene.

Blood was splattered on the walls, bathroom floor, bathroom walls, ceiling, pictures and a refrigerator inside the room. The flat-screen television and full-length wall mirror were both broken. Every towel and washcloth in the room, along with the bedding and bedspread, were coated with blood.

Police contacted the woman who rented the room and she was apprehensive to provide information. She insisted she was not injured. The woman said this was not domestic abuse, said the police report.

She told officers her on-and-off again boyfriend met her in the hotel room. She arranged for two other friends, via social media, to come to the hotel for a "party" of sorts.

Police contacted the boyfriend via phone who said he became severely intoxicated. At one point, while trying to exit the bathroom he tripped and went headfirst into the floor-length mirror. He shattered the glass which cut his head, according to the report.

While attempting to climb into bed, the male struck the table and lamp. He tried to stop the bleeding several times before he was successful. Police wanted to do a welfare check but he declined and said he was fine. The male didn't want to tell police why they were all in the hotel room together.

During the investigation, a Samsung tablet was found behind the headboard as well as a pair of sexual leather/fur-type wrist restraints attached to a wall mounted light sconce, the report said.

Only a phone welfare check could be done on the individuals due to a lack of cooperation, the report said.

The cost of damages was not listed in the police report.
