Making beach scenes are so much fun and I love using a large focal image like the Rubbernecker Vintage Woody car stamp and die. I enjoyed using the Rubbernecker Beach Master to add a few scenic elements. It’s hard to believe I worked with Rubbernecker Stamps to create the images for the Kittie Kits Beach Master more than ten years ago. Time sure flies by when you are having paper crafting fun.
I masked off the water line for the scene background using a piece of painters tape. I used a stylus and foam tip to apply the sand with Antique Linen ink and Tumbled Glass ink for the water. I removed the mask and sponged on a few clouds in the background. I cut a second sand piece with my deckle scissors. I stamped a few sections of sea oats to the sand area and stamped several sections of the sand image to add some texture to the scene. I applied white embossing paste to the water by tapping it lightly on the paper with my finger. I applied clear glitter while it was still wet to create a touch of sparkle. I applied a light touch of Cosmic Glitter Glue to the front sand piece and sprinkled with the clear glitter. The front sand layer was attached to the scene with mounting tape and the scene was attached to the blue layer with ATG adhesive.
I colored the woody with Copic and Distress Markers. When I was finished I added a few touches of rust to areas on the car using a mini applicator and Rusty Hinge in. I then then cut out the whole car out but eliminated the wheels. I stamped a second Woody, colored the wheels and then attached the main car over top of the wheel section using mounting tape. I wanted to create a little dimension between the body of the car and wheels. I hand cut the little surf board and attached in the window with glue dots. The car was tucked in behind the sand dune and attached to the scene with mounting tape.
I always have so much fun creating beach scenes and it was especially fun to use my Kittie Kits again. I appreciate you coming by today and I hope you have been inspired to create a vintage car beach scene of your own.
