Three arrested from Nyeland Acres robbery incident

Deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office arrested three individuals suspected to be involved with an armed robbery last month in the unincorporated area of Nyeland Acres, authorities said Friday.

On Dec. 1 around 10 p.m., deputies responded to the 3000 block of Almond Drive in response to a reported robbery.

Authorities arrived on scene and found a Domino's Pizza delivery person had been robbed during a pizza order, deputies said. The victim was out making a delivery when he was approached by three unknown subjects. The suspects physically assaulted the victim, took the pizza he was carrying and fled the area, according to authorities.

The victim attempted to follow the suspects but was threatened with a knife and a handgun, deputies said. An investigation by the Sheriff Department's Gang Unit along with detectives was launched into the incident. Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified Jose Ramirez, 21, of Oxnard, Enrique Chavarria, 18, of Nyeland Acres, and a 15-year-old male juvenile from Camarillo as the suspects, authorities said.

On Jan. 3, police arrested all three suspects on suspicion of second degree robbery, conspiracy and street terrorism. Ramirez also received a narcotics charge after being found to be in possession of methamphetamine, according to authorities.
