Bonita Beach Causeway back open

Bonita Beach Causeway near Lovers Key reopened after deputy presence shut down both lanes for about an hour Friday afternoon.

The causeway was reopened as of about 6:20 p.m.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office sent a traffic alert around 5:30 p.m. saying deputies were in the area and asked drivers to seek alternate routes.

No other information was available.
