Kettler begins role as ISDA director

The new director of Indiana’s State Department of Agriculture says he is looking forward to working with the department and state economic development corporation to grow the industry.

Bruce Kettler started his new role this week.

“I’ve gotten an appreciation for what it takes and what it means to be able to either grow or support business that are here, obviously we want to do that and anything this department can do to make that happen will be an important part of the role,” he says.

He tells Brownfield he will also bring stakeholders together to carry out Indiana agriculture’s strategic plan that was unveiled last year.

“It’s a testament that we had so many people involved in that strategic plan that want to continue to help us pursue that and push it and make sure it’s successful,” he says. “It will set our industry up and the entire state of Indiana for continued success down the road.”

Kettler is no stranger to agriculture. He grew up in Western Ohio and was involved in 4-H and FFA. The Ohio State University alum began his career at Dow AgroSciences. He most recently was working as director of public relations for Becks.
