Victim allegedly robbed at knifepoint in Ventura

A female victim was allegedly robbed at knifepoint late Thursday in front of a Ventura apartment complex, police officials said.

Police responded just before 11:40 p.m. to the 700 block of South Hill Road regarding a woman who reported she had been robbed, officials said.

Responding officers searched the area but did not locate a suspect, authorities said.

The Ventura Police Department said the victim was standing in front of an apartment complex when she was approached by a male suspect, allegedly armed with a knife, who demanded her purse and cellphone.

The victim complied at which time the suspect fled the scene on foot, officials said.

The suspect was described as a man in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and was allegedly wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a bandana obscuring his face, officials said.
