Ventura residential fire displaces 7, injures 1

Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire Thursday afternoon in Ventura, according to authorities.

The fire was reported at 2:37 p.m. in the 8800 block of North Bank Drive.

When crews arrived, they said the home was “well-involved” in flames.

Crews on the scene reported there was one patient with minor burn injuries. The victim was treated for their injuries at the scene, authorities said.

The fire was reported knocked down at 2:57 p.m. Crews conducted a search of the structure and found there was nobody else inside.

Seven residents, including one child, were temporarily displaced as a result of the fire, authorities said. The Red Cross was called to the scene to help provide temporary housing.

Eastbound traffic along North Bank Drive was blocked by law enforcement as crews responded to the blaze.
