Immokalee man arrested, accused of molesting girl in home

A domestic disturbance call Wednesday led officials to arrest an Immokalee man accused of inappropriately touching a minor.

Anibal Lopez Sanchez

Anibal Lopez Sanchez, 32, faces a charge of lewd and lascivious molestation of a person younger than 12, according to a Collier County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Deputies were dispatched to an Immokalee home and met a woman who said Lopez Sanchez had pushed her during an argument and took away her phone when she tried to call 911 on Tuesday night.

According to the arrest report, the argument started when the woman wanted Lopez Sanchez to repay her so she could move out of the house with her four children.

One of the children told the woman Lopez Sanchez had touched her underneath her pants, the report states.

The girl was interviewed at the Children's Advocacy Center and told investigators that one night while she was in bed and tucked under covers, Lopez Sanchez touched her "down there" underneath clothing but on top of her underwear.

The child tried to push Lopez Sanchez's hand away, the report states, and the man stopped and went to take a shower.

When the woman confronted Lopez Sanchez about the alleged touching, he said he and the child were playing and that nothing inappropriate happened, the report states.

Lopez Sanchez also faces charges of battery and obstructing justice in connection with the domestic disturbance and trying to keep the woman from reporting a crime to law enforcement, the report states.

He was booked at the Immokalee Jail Center. Bail information was not available Thursday afternoon.
