MADISON - Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Rebecca Dallet raised nearly $500,000 last year in her bid to join the state Supreme Court this spring.

Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Rebecca Dallet.

Dallet raised about $225,000 in the second half of last year and had about $389,000 on hand as of the end of December, according to the report she filed Thursday.

Dallet put $200,000 of her own money into the race early on but did not do so in the latest reporting period.

The other candidates in the race, Madison-area attorney Tim Burns and Sauk County Circuit Court Judge Michael Screnock, have not yet filed their reports, which are due Tuesday.

Burns has run as a liberal and Screnock as a conservative. Dallet spoke at the state Democratic Party convention but has said she seeks to appeal to voters from both sides.

On Thursday, Burns' campaign promoted the backing he got months ago from Our Revolution, a group affiliated with former Democratic presidential candidate and U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

A Feb. 20 primary will narrow the field to two candidates. The general election is April 3.
