Did you all survive the holidays? As the holidays are now behind us it’s time for another equally important event…FOOTBALL! So many football games are soon to be happening all across the country, are you ready? Of course, I think food when I think football because ultimately that’s just as important as the game. The perfect game day food includes Bacon Wrapped Brats & Chicken Dippers.
My husband just about fell over when he saw these Bacon Wrapped Brats. I have to admit, they are so good and perfect for game day. They are also perfect for holding while watching the game. I would say that brats just go with game day, and when you wrap Wright® Brand Bacon around them, I guarantee you will score a touchdown!
I decided to cook the bacon just a bit to get it almost done, but still able to easily wrap it around the brats. Then, I wrapped them around the brats. Once they were nicely cooked and crispy, it was time to top the bun and then add in some sautéed onions and peppers. I have to admit these were simply amazing and it clearly took the bacon wrapped foods to another level.
Wright Brand Bacon is our go-to, it’s always so delicious and crispy, plus I always feel like it has so much ‘meat’ to it. Many times bacon shrinks up when cooking but you get the crispiest bacon with Wright Brand Bacon. It’s our Saturday morning breakfast go-to as well but it pairs especially well with these brats.
Once we had our Bacon Wrapped Brats done, it was time for those Chicken Dippers. We used Tyson® Naturals Lightly Breaded Chicken Strips. You can find them in the frozen section at your local Kroger. These can be simply made as instructed, and paired with my favorite Dill Dip. The Dill Dip paired with the flavoring of the chicken is going to score you another touchdown and you are on a roll to win the game! I like to add some carrots to the platter too for some extra color, plus carrots always tend to go well with these foods too. The Tyson Naturals Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Strips are specially marked chicken with ‘No Antibiotics Ever’ too, which means you can trust you are getting the best quality!
My kids happen to love the Chicken Dippers. They are perfect if you have kids at the party and they are great for adults too. They can be cut in half to create even more servings as well.
Once you have your game day food planned it’s time for the big game. Do you enjoy having homegating parties with friends and family? I know for us it always makes the game so much better, plus it’s time to chat with friends and enjoy some quality time together. In our home, the girls usually end up gathering and chatting it up around the food table, while the guys are fully involved in the game.
All of these great foods can be purchased easily at your local Kroger or Kroger banner store along with some other fun football foods that they have on hand there as well. It’s simple to plan out your entire party all in one location.
Are you ready for your next game day party? I encourage you to try these Bacon Wrapped Brats & Chicken Dippers. I guarantee your friends will be back because you will have the best food on the block!
Happy Game Day!
