Police log: Police searching for suspect in armed robbery at Hagerstown, Md. Pilot store

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Police in Maryland are seeking information on an armed robbery that occurred early on Jan. 9 at Pilot Travel Center, several miles south of the Pennsylvania-Maryland border at 11633 Greencastle Pike. 

Maryland State Police responded to a call just after 3 a.m. from an employee who said a man had pointed a long gun at a female cashier's neck and demanded that she open the cash drawer. The man took an undisclosed amount of money, then left through the front door and fled the scene on foot.

Hagerstown Police Department sent two tracking K-9’s and started a track ending at Service Tire Truck Center, located next to the Pilot, where it appeared a vehicle had been parked, with visible tire tracks in the snow. 

The man entered the Pilot through a side entrance. He was wearing a dark-brown Carhartt-style jacket, a dark scarf covering his face, with a hood pulled over his head, police said.

SEX ASSAULT: Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault committed against a juvenile on Jan. 7 on Heritage Road, Greene Township. Police did not provide the name of the known suspect. 

THEFT: Thaddeus Guy Corley, 32, Chambersburg, was charged with multiple counts of theft, theft by deception, access device fraud and identity theft after he allegedly took someone's M&T Visa credit card, Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone, keys and wallet from an employee break area at Chambersburg Mall on Nov. 30, then used the card at Kay Jewelers, T-Mobile, Chick-Fil-A and Walmart, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg. 

ASSAULT: Semaj Lester, of Philadelphia, is accused of engaging in a physical altercation with a Chambersburg person, tackling him and punching him in the head, on Dec. 26 in the 10000 block of South Mountain Road, Quincy Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg. 

RETAIL THEFT: Heather L. Deardorff, Waynesboro, was cited for retail theft after several items were reported stolen from a business on South Potomac Street. at 9 p.m. Oct. 5, according to Waynesboro Police. 

FIREARM VIOLATION: David L. Hadley, Waynesboro, was charged with persons not to possess firearms after police responded to a residence on West Main Street for an unrelated incident at 10:35 p.m. Nov. 20, according to Waynesboro Police. 

CHILD ENDANGERMENT: Tierra D. Miller, Waynesboro, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children, and one count each of simple assault, criminal mischief and reckless driving after police responded at 4:29 p.m. Dec. 1 to East Main Street for a report of one vehicle striking a second vehicle, according to Waynesboro Police. 

DOMESTIC:  Jeremiah J. Tyeyar, Waynesboro, was charged with simple assault after a domestic was reported on Pratt Court on December 20 at 10:19 p.m., according to Waynesboro Police. 

ASSAULT: Two people were charged in connection to a domestic incident that was reported to Waynesboro Police at 2:24 p.m. Dec. 24 from Commerce Street.  Austin J. McManus, Waynesboro, was  charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and strangulation, and Mackenzie A. Blake, Waynesboro, was charged with simple assault. 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  The windshields of two vehicles were broken at about 9:24 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 400 block of Ramsey Avenue in Chambersburg, according to Chambersburg Police. Police responded to the scene on Jan. 8, and learned that two people had been seen running from the scene, north toward Ramsey Avenue.

Cumberland County

CORRUPTION OF MINORS: Damien Hershey, 20, of Carlisle, was charged with corruption of minors after he allegedly sent nude photos to a teen through Snapchat, according to state police. 

Police said Hershey allegedly sent photos of genitalia through the social media network to a 14-year-old Carlisle boy on Dec. 9.
