A former Naples police officer will go before a judge Monday morning on charges of molesting a girl between the ages of 12 and 16.

Ricardo Vazquez, 37, of Golden Gate, is charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation. He was arrested in March.

The trial is expected to last three days, a release said.

Collier County sheriff's arrest reports say Vazquez inappropriately touched a girl between the ages of 12 and 16 multiple times over several years. The girl told a relative who contacted deputies.

Vazquez was a police officer for Naples between November 2005 and December 2010.

He resigned voluntarily, according to the city's human resources department.

Vazquez went to work for Collier County as a utility technician in its wastewater collection department in May 2013.
