Oxnard man suffers skull fracture after being hit with pipe

Authorities are investigating an assault that left a man with a fractured skull in Oxnard, according to police.

Officers first responded to reports of an assault Wednesday at 7:12 p.m. in the 500 block of Del Sur Way.

By the time police arrived, all people involved had fled the scene, although police did find blood in the area, according to authorities.

At 3:44 p.m. Thursday, Oxnard police were contacted by St. John's Regional Medical Center about a man who arrived with a fractured skull and head lacerations. The victim said he had been hit with a pipe around the same time and place as the call made Wednesday night. Investigators concluded the victim was connected with the previous assault, authorities said.
