Kurt William L'Heureux, 44, faces up to 15 years in prison for killing Robert Charles Guyette when he is sentenced in March, according to a release from the State Attorney's Office.

According to court records, L'Heureux and Guyette shared a home on Jeepers Drive with two other people and had a volatile relationship that regularly ended in drunken fights.

A friend of Guyette's reported him missing to the Collier County Sheriff's Office when she hadn't heard from him for several days, court records state.

Acquaintances of L'Heureux's told detectives the man talked about having access to a gun and kept bullets in the home, records state. Other acquaintances said L'Heureux confessed to them about luring Guyette to a wooded area and shooting him in the head, according to court records.

According to the State Attorney's Office release, there was no direct evidence of the killing, and no one saw it.

Prosecutors filed a second-degree murder charge, but the jury came back with a manslaughter charge, according to Samantha Syoen, spokeswoman for the State Attorney's Office.
