Aaron Rodgers, Packers raise $106,700 for Salvation Army during holiday season

GREEN BAY – Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers contributed $106,700 to the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign this season.

The Packers quarterback contributed $54,274 to the total by signing 200 autographs at $100 a pop and matching money raised by teammates during their autograph sessions at Lambeau Field.

Other players who signed autographs this year included Davon House, Josh Jones and Kevin King on Nov. 20; Jamaal Williams, Aaron Ripkowski and Aaron Jones on Nov. 27; Kenny Clark, Dean Lowry and Montravius Adams on Dec. 4; and Vince Biegel, Blake Martinez and Jake Ryan on Dec. 11.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers contributed $54,274 to the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign through an autograph signing and direct donation of $34,274. Altogether, Packers players, staff and fans raised $106,700 for the 2017 campaign.

In addition, Packers staff members participated in bell ringing during Packers Give Back Day on Dec. 19 at Bay Park Square mall in Ashwaubenon. Fans and shoppers donated $23,150 and the Packers added $15,000.

In 2016, the team and players raised $110,862, including $34,826 through bell ringing and $76,000 through autographs. Rodgers signed 200 autographs at $100 each then, too, and donated $38,000 more. 

The Salvation Army uses the money for aiding families, seniors and the homeless in Green Bay.
