On Tuesday night, Gov. Tom Wolf announced the activation of 21 Pennsylvania National Guard troops in northwestern Pennsylvania after a record amount of snow fell across the Erie area over the past several days.

The storm set Erie's all-time daily snowfall record on Christmas, when 34 inches of snow fell. Tuesday brought another 24.5 inches, bringing the total since Dec. 23 to more than 62.9 inches.
