First 400 Bon-Ton customers to get free gift card worth up to $500 Wednesday

Here's another suburban store in the York area: The Bon-Ton at Queensgate Towne Center in York Township. The retail chain grew to two headquarters - in York and Milwaukee - and operates scores of stores under the names of Bon-Ton operates department stores under the brand names Bon-Ton, Boston Store, Bergner's, Younkers, Carson's, Elder-Beerman and Herberger's.

Then, Bon-Ton has a deal for you.

On Wednesday beginning at 7 a.m., Bon-Ton Stores Inc., will give away gift cards ranging in value from $5 to $500 to the first 400 customers at each of its locations, including all Bon-Ton, Boston Store, Bergner’s, Carson’s, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s and Younkers stores.

By the end of the promotion, the retailer will have given away a total of $1 million in gift cards, according to a news release.

An entrance at each store will be marked with signs for the free giveaway, according to the release. The promotion is limited to one gift card per person, and customers must be 18 or older to participate.

The gift cards have no exclusions or expiration date and can be used immediately or given as a gift, the release said.

Clearance centers, furniture galleries and Carson’s Riverside Plaza store will not participate in the giveaway.

Bon-Ton has locations at the York Galleria in Springettsbury Township, Queensgate Shopping Center in York Township, Eisenhower Drive in Hanover, Park City Center in Lancaster and Chambersburg Mall in Greene Township.
