Child porn case: North Naples man, 51, faces multiple charges

Kevin John Hawkesworth

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement on Friday arrested a North Naples man accused of more than 60 charges related to child pornography.

Kevin John Hawkesworth, 51, faces 53 counts of electronic transmission of child pornography by electronic device and 10 counts of promotion of child pornography, according to a news release by the FDLE.

Hawkesworth was arrested at his home and booked at the Lee County jail.

Agents began their investigation after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children "that an individual was sending videos and images of child pornography to persons via Twitter," the release states.

Law enforcement officers used a search warrant Nov. 16 at Hawkesworth’s home and seized "numerous computer-related media devices," the release states.

Agents said they examined the devices and found that while in Lee County, Hawkesworth "allegedly sent child pornography that included children as young as three or four years of age engaged in various sex acts," the release states.

The search warrant was executed at Hawkesworth’s home by FDLE special agents with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations, the FDLE Cyber Crimes Task Force, and the Collier County Sheriff's Office.
