GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers expect to open Ariens Hill in the Titletown District to snow tubing next week.

Before that, the team will open Lambeau Field to snow shovelers on Monday. The Packers need 600 people to clear snow out of the Lambeau Field bowl beginning at 8 a.m. Monday. It will pay workers $10 an hour. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

People interested in shoveling snow can report to the Mills Fleet Farm Gate at Lambeau Field on Monday morning. The Packers will provide shovels. Snow is possible later next week, so shovelers might be needed again on Friday, said Ted Eisenreich, director of facility operations. He said snow will be removed Monday so accumulation later in the week can be removed faster and more easily.

"There's quite a bit of snow in there now," he said. "On Friday, the networks will be setting up."

The Packers are scheduled to host the Minnesota Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 23 in a nationally televised game.

Ariens Hill in the Titletown District west of Lambeau Field will open for tubing later next week, said Public Affairs Director Aaron Popkey.

"Every day we get phone calls and people here using the ice rink asking, 'Hey, when are you going to open up?'" Popkey said Friday morning.

The hill is 46 feet high with 100-yard-long tubing lanes. It includes an automated tube-return system. Popkey said the configuration will be similar to Navarino Hills in Shawano County or Kewaunee Winter Park in Kewaunee County.

Titletown District is a nearly 45-acre development bounded primarily by South Ridge Road, Lombardi Avenue, Brookwood Drive and Marlee Lane. Its anchors include Lodge Kohler hotel, Hinterland Brewery and Bellin Health Sports Medicine and Orthopedics clinic, all of which are open. The Packers and Microsoft announced plans for TitletownTech, a technology and innovation center, expected to open in fall 2018.

The park and plaza consists of the plaza, adjacent to South Ridge Road; an activity area that includes sections for horseshoes, shuffleboard, bocce, ping pong, bean-bag toss and other activities; playgrounds for three age groups, a 40-yard dash course with timer, the snow-tubing hill, ice-skating pond and trail, and regulation-sized football field.

Titletown District will present its Winter Jubilee light and music show through the end of the year, but tubing and skating will continue as long as weather allows.

The seven-minute Winter Jubilee Light Show happens every half hour between 6 and 9 p.m. most Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through the end of December. The blend of holiday-themed lights, music, special effects, animation and lasers project onto Lambeau Field's outer west facade. The shows also include fireworks.

The open skating pond and path, which winds under the tubing hill and around an island with a fire pit, are just a little smaller than a standard ice-hockey rink. The skating area opened on Nov. 30.
