The Palmetto Ridge High School boys soccer team played Estero to a 1-1 draw at home on Thursday night.

Anthony Ramirez scored the goal for the Bears, with an assist from Lawson Dooling.

“Estero is a very talented team and they outplayed us for portions of this game,” Palmetto Ridge coach Brian Friend said. “We were able to make some half time adjustments after falling behind and get back into the game. A great pass and some impressive composure in front of goal by senior Anthony Ramirez earned us a tie on a night that we didn’t have our best stuff. We have one district game left about a month from now. We’ll look to build upon this stretch of the season and have a strong January leading into playoffs.”

IMMOKALEE 3, GULF COAST 0: Guadalupe Guzman led the Indians, scoring a pair of goals. Jose Escobedo also found the net.

"Great game by both teams," Immokalee coach Saintano Damas said. "Gulf Coast had a few clear opportunities, but our keeper, Carlos Contreras made some exceptional saves to keep hope alive. Overall, great team effort by our boys tonight, but I think we are still making too many crucial mistakes. We have a lot to fix in order to improve our game, just got to get better at what we do as a team."

Our team is going on break with a high morale and energized to keep the positive play going into late season. Happy Holidays to all the teams, coaches, and families.”
