Slippery roads are suspected in a Washington County crash that injured a Slinger police officer and a woman.

The crash was reported shortly before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 41 about a half-mile south of state Highway 60 in the village of Slinger, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

According to a news release:

The officer's squad was parked in an emergency turnaround on Highway 41 when it was struck head-on by a northbound vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Horicon woman.

The woman had lost control of her vehicle, possibly on a slippery patch of road, before striking the squad and veering into the southbound lane, where her vehicle was struck by one driven by a 19-year-old Illinois man who was not injured.

The woman and the officer were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
