Chez Guy Parisian Bistro, a new local restaurant, opened Dec. 6 on the northwest corner of Airport-Pulling and Pine Ridge roads in North Naples.

A new French restaurant opened Dec. 6 on the northwest corner of Airport-Pulling and Pine Ridge roads in North Naples.

Chez Guy Parisian Bistro moved into the former space of Coastal Peruvian Seafood & Grill restaurant, 5447 Airport-Pulling Road N., in the Bed Bath and Beyond Plaza.

Guy Minet, who formerly co-owned French American Bistro in North Naples and Pizza Mia at Dockside Boardwalk in Naples, is a native of France and the hands-on chef and owner of Chez Guy (pronounced “shay ghee”).

Since he sold his interest in French American Bistro, Minet traveled and then most recently cooked for Cote d’Azur French restaurant in North Naples. Of course, he was looking for his next local restaurant ownership opportunity, too.

“I was ready to start another one but waiting for the right location and a nice place,” he said.

Chez Guy Parisian Bistro opened Dec. 6 on the northwest corner of Airport-Pulling and Pine Ridge roads in North Naples.

Chez Guy’s inaugural menu simply provides a classic taste of French cuisine. The menu features seven selections of both appetizers and entrees.

Although Chez Guy has been a dinner-only restaurant during its debut, Minet plans to open for lunch soon, he said.

Dinner entrees ($24-$36) include beef bourguignon, crispy duck confit over white bean casserole, tenderloin steak tartare, beef tenderloin in a cognac peppercorn sauce, pan-roasted veal tenderloin in a wild mushroom demi-glace, and pan-seared grouper Madagascar in a ginger, green pepper, vanilla and lemon sauce.

Appetizers ($8-$14) include French onion soup, of course, as well as traditional escargot in garlic butter, scallops au gratin with shrimp, Atlantic salmon carpaccio and mussels in a sauce of white wine, shallots and a touch of cream. House and Caesar salads also are available.

Desserts ($9-$12) include pistachio crème brulee, dark chocolate mousse, fresh berry melba and profiteroles. Beverages include espresso and port and sauterne wines.

More dining specials and dishes will be added eventually, Minet said.

“For now, I stay on my mark,” he said.

Chez Guy, 5447 Airport-Pulling Road N., opens for dinner at 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The restaurant is closed Sundays. Lunch service will start soon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
