Milwaukee girl, 4, found safe at school; father arrested after reporting abduction

Jamereiyonna L. Buchanan-Murdock, 4, is still missing after her mother's car was stolen with the child inside it.

A 4-year-old girl was found safe at school after her father falsely reported she was abducted, Milwaukee police said Tuesday.

The report of the girl being inside her mother's stolen car prompted police to notify the news media quickly and to begin the Amber Alert process.

Milwaukee police say her father has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.

The initial report indicated the mother's car was parked and running with Jamareiyonna L. Buchanan-Murdock inside when two men took the car about 10:25 a.m. in the 2500 block of W. Becher St.

The woman's car was abandoned and recovered near N. 95th St. and W. Brown Deer Road.
