Cargill FedByTrade initiative underscores why trade matters

Cargill has launched an initiative it calls FedByTrade to help its employees and others understand how trade helps feed the world.  The campaign is designed to bring attention to Trump administration trade policies that Cargill’s website says are affecting farmers and rural livelihoods.

Cargill says FedByTrade will help its 155,000 workers and others understand why trade matters.  It also encourages people to speak up for trade.  As the initiative’s name implies, Cargill says trade opens access to dependable supplies of affordable food, and is a catalyst to lift people out of poverty.  But the company says trade is often inaccurately portrayed, misunderstood and criticized.
