A few weeks ago we announced that Points, Miles & Martinis has partnered with a hotel provider to giveaway 100,000 points, One Hundred Thousand points!
The 100,000 point prize is the biggest point balance we’ve ever given away and we are as excited as ever. Not only because one lucky winner will receive a boat load of points to redeem at some of the best properties around the world. But also because the beneficiary of the giveaway is noble.
The giveaway is part of the Passports with Purpose 2013 fundraiser campaign that benefits buildOn in their efforts to construct schools in Mali. The goal is to raise over $115,000 in support of this effort. Wow, that is a lot of money for a good cause. But we can do it!!!
To do so, travel bloggers from all over the world seek out sponsors to donate prizes for give away entrants to win. This year, the Passports with Purpose effort will support the buildOn organization. You can learn more about their mission and methodology here.

Passports with Purpose
We’ve participated in Passports with Purpose fundraise the last two years and it has been a rewarding experience.
In 2011, through their partnerships with the participating bloggers, we raised $90,000 to build two libraries in Zambia through a partnership with Room to Read.
In 2012, Passports with Purpose raised over USD $110,000 for Water.org through the collaborative efforts of more than 200 travel bloggers and 1,242 individual donors who bid on one or more of the 143 prizes on the PwP site from November 28 to December 11, 2012.
This year we are hoping to make it ever better by raising the bar to $115,000 to support buildOn in their efforts to construct schools in Mali.
Bottom Line
The Points, Miles & Martinis prize will be listed in a new category this year, loyalty program points and miles. I think we’ll be in good company with fellow BoardingArea blogger Rick from Loyalty Traveller who is giving away 110,000 hotel points this year.
