Hardee’s No. 1383169, McSherrystown

  • Person in charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection.
  • Observed Blodgett oven located by grill area is heavily soiled with encrusted grease and soil accumulation at the time of inspection.
  • Observed inside of Neico roller oven, cooking equipment, in the kitchen area having large amounts of food debris, encrusted grease and soil accumulation at the time of inspection.
  • Observed sides of fryers, leg of oven/grill and door gaskets located in the kitchen area, is soiled with a large accumulation of encrusted grease, dirt, dust, food residue and debris on non-food contact surfaces.
  • Observed sausage pressure, a food contact surface, to have encrusted grease residue and was not clean to sight and touch.
  • Observed outside waste handling unit and storage area is dirty with trash and in need of cleaning.
  • Wall in front area (drive thru), has a hole or is broken and in need of repair.
  • Ceiling tiles heavily soiled throughout the kitchen and front serving areas and need to be replaced.
  • Observed wall juncture in rear and front (drive thru) areas is not covered and closed and in need of repair.
  • Observed the entire kitchen/cooking areas of the food facility is extremely dirty, dusty and in need of a massive cleaning.
  • Observed rear stock/mop sink area, walk-in cooler/freezer, underneath 3 comp sink, floor drain, PVC piping, grease trap, underneath fryers, walls and fixtures heavily soiled with dirt, encrusted grease, black sticky substances, old food debris and dust. Need a massive cleaning at time of inspection.
  • Observed hood vents and suppression lines over-top of grill and Neico roller oven is extremely soiled with black soot and encrusted grease and in need of cleaning.

The store has since implemented a correction plan, assistant store manager Ashley Storm said Tuesday.

"As far as food, we didn't fail on anything related to food," Storm said. "It was strictly equipment and things that need replacing in the restaurant."
