Glendale police are investigating a three-car accident that killed one person and seriously injured another.

The crash occurred late Friday, when a man driving a Nissan Pathfinder north on 59th Avenue crossed the center of the road, according to police.

The Pathfinder collided with a Chevrolet HHR traveling south, police said, killing the first driver and leaving the second with serious injuries.

A third vehicle was struck after the two vehicles collided, but the driver of that vehicle was not hurt, police said.

As of Sunday, police had not determined the cause of the accident.
