Food mart employee shot to death Sunday

A food mart employee on Milwaukee's northwest side was shot to death Sunday.

The 40-year-old man was killed about 9:40 a.m. at a food mart in the 3800 block of W. North Ave., police reported. He was declared dead at the scene. Milwaukee police on Monday identified the victim as Ala T. Mahd.

Police are searching for a male suspect. Robbery may have been a motive in the slaying.

Also over the weekend, a 37-year-old man was shot to death on Saturday.

Police said the homicide occurred about 3:35 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of S. 22nd St. on the city's south side. The man was dead when police arrived. Police on Monday identified him as Marcholee E. Skenandore.
