Governor Rauner announces Brandt Industries is coming to Illinois

Governor Bruce Rauner says his administration has worked hard to bring a Canadian ag equipment maker to central Illinois for its U.S. headquarters.

Rauner told reporters at the Illinois Farm Bureau meeting in Chicago,  Brandt Industries of Canada is coming to McLean County.  “I worked hard to bring Brandt Industries to Illinois,” he says.  “They are opening a major new factory outside of Normal, Ill. in the Central part of the state.  They’ll be adding at least 300 new jobs and potentially 500 new jobs to that plant.”

Rauner says it will be Brandt’s first manufacturing plant outside of Canada.  “It was a big team effort,” he says.  “But I spent a lot of time on the phone talking with the family that owns the business.  They’re a wonderful family and we look forward to supporting them as they grow good careers here in Illinois.”

The company reportedly will receive 1.2-Million-dollars in state and local tax breaks if all requirements are met.
