Grand Hyatt, Seattle

I wrote yesterday about my stay at the Hyatt at Olive 8. After a couple of nights there I moved to the Grand Hyatt, about 2 blocks away.

The vehicle pull off at the Grand Hyatt is easy to reach and not usually too busy:

The hotel lobby is quite dark and fairly uninviting by my books. Whilst spacious, heavily carpeted and with some dramatic items, I don’t really like it. But does that matter?

I was allocated a room on the 21st floor and told about the hours of the Regency Club. The hallways show the direction to the rooms in very artistic way:

The room has a long hall which leads to the left in to the bathroom and on the right has a closet:

There is a comfy chair near the window, complete with footstool:

The bathroom is very large with a separate shower and a huge very deep, European bath tub:

The most dramatic improvement over the Hyatt at Olive 8 was the wonderful views from the room, facing as it did, towards the Pacific.

The Westin was visible from the room:

As well as the Sheraton:

The Regency Club, whilst not huge was never overcrowded. The food is the standard mix, but the really winning aspect is the staff who could not have been more helpful. Friendly and always ready to assist, they made the stay.

The bed was comfortable and I slept well.

Overall, with the Regency Club and the excellent views, I would pick the Grand Hyatt over the Hyatt at Olive 8 if the rates are similar.

  1. Typing this in a suite at the Olive 8 right now. Great staff, big room, and good bed. Where did you eat while in town? Any recommendations?
