Cade Mays narrows down to top three choices

Catholic's Cade Mays wears a hat after a 5A semifinals game between Knoxville Catholic and Central at Central High School in Knoxville, Tenn., Friday, Nov. 24, 2017.

And then there were three.

Cade Mays narrowed his decision of where to play college football down to three schools in a tweet with a professionally-made graphic late Thursday night, after Catholic won the 5A BlueCross Bowl.

It will be Clemson, Georgia or Ohio State.

Mays, the top-ranked recruit in the state, decommitted from Tennessee on Nov. 7 and has visited all three of those schools since.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound lineman previously tweeted that he would announce his top three after Thursday's state championship. He declined to comment after the game, telling reporters he would tweet his announcement "in a minute."

When asked if the Vols were still in the running, Mays said he was waiting to see who the new coach was.

Mays won his second state title on Thursday, when Catholic beat Beech 45-28.
