COOKEVILLE — While Tennessee continues to search for his replacement, former Vols football coach Butch Jones spent Thursday evening in Cookeville at the TSSAA football state championships.

Jones, who was fired after five seasons at Tennessee, is at the Class 5A BlueCross Bowl watching his son Adam Jones, who is a junior wide receiver on the Knoxville Catholic.

Catholic (11-3) is playing Beech (14-0) in the Class 5A state championship game.

Tennessee finished 4-8 in its first eight-loss season. Jones was fired after the Vols 50-17 loss to Missouri on Nov. 12 that dropped Tennessee to 4-6.
