Four Milwaukee shootings in five hours leave one dead, five wounded

Four separate shootings in six hours in Milwaukee on Friday left one man dead and five others wounded, police said.

According to Milwaukee police:

  • Shortly before 11 a.m., a 24-year-old man was seriously wounded when he was shot while driving at N. 35th St. and W. Capitol Drive. The man was stopped at a red light when he was shot by an unknown assailant.
  • Shortly after 12:30 p.m., two men, ages 20 and 28, were shot by an unknown assailant while walking in the 4500 block of W. Wright St.
  • At about 1 p.m., a 22-year-old man was killed and an 18-year-old man suffered injuries that are not life-threatening when they were shot in the 3800 block of W. Vliet St. The men were seated inside a vehicle when they were shot by an assailant who got out of another vehicle.
  • About 4 p.m., a 21-year-old man was wounded when he was shot by an unknown assailant while walking in the 1700 block of S. 19th St.

The shootings remained under investigation, police said.
