Southbound Highway 45 at Highway D in Washington County has been reopened after a crash between a pickup truck and a transit bus, officials said.

For a time, the crash, reported shortly after 10:30 a.m. at Highway D, closed all lanes of the highway in both directions for a Flight for Life helicopter that took one of three people injured to a hospital, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

The crash occurred when the driver of the southbound truck struck the southbound Washington County Shared Ride Taxi bus while attempting to pass it, the Sheriff's Office said.

The crash sent the bus into a ditch, trapping the passenger who was later taken aboard the helicopter, and two injured people in the truck, who were taken by ambulance to a hospital, the Sheriff's Office said.

The crash remained under investigation.
