Former Milwaukee Bucks center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar recently sold his 1971 NBA All-Star Game jersey in an auction.

Former NBA star center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar accumulated lots of items he won, wore and collected during his 20 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers.

Abdul-Jabbar, 70, is the NBA's all-time leading scorer and one of the most notable players in league history.

Recently, his 1971 NBA All-Star Game jersey sold for $106,250 as part of a “Heroes of Sport” collection through Dallas-based Heritage Auctions. Among basketball items, it was auctioned for the highest price.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's (Lew Alcindor) 1971 NBA All-Star Game jersey recently sold at an auction.

Others included a 1965-'66 jersey ($97,500) worn by Wilt Chamberlain during his second MVP season with the Philadelphia 76ers. Former Boston Celtics great Bill Russell’s 1960 All-Star Game jersey drew $81,250, while a pair of customized Air Jordan I Sneakers worn by the Chicago Bulls' Michael Jordan in 1986 went for $55,000.

Before changing his name, Abdul-Jabbar was Lew Alcindor during his early playing days in Milwaukee.

In the 1971 NBA All-Star Game playing for the West team, Alcindor was 8 of 16 from the field and had 19 points and 14 rebounds. He had the second-most points behind Lenny Wilkens' 21. The West defeated the East, 108-107.

In the 1970-'71 season, Alcindor averaged 31.7 points per game.
