Kevin Sumlin is expected to be fired by Texas A&M after the LSU game, according to a report.

Win or lose against LSU, Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin is expected to be fired, according to a report by the Houston Chronicle.

Sumlin has a 51-25 record as coach of the Aggies, but is 16-19 against the SEC West, angering the fan base after the school has spent millions in upgrades to the facilities.

The LSU game is significant in that the Tigers were supposed to be the rival for Texas A&M when it joined the SEC. But LSU has won all six meetings since the Aggies joined the conference.

The series goes back to 1899, however, and before this latest LSU streak, A&M won five straight from 1991-95. Overall, LSU leads the series 32-20-3.

Sumlin's best record with the Aggies was 11-2 in his first season and with Johnny Manziel at quarterback they knocked off No. 1 Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

The Aggies are 7-4 heading into their season finale and have qualified for a bowl game.

According to a USA TODAY report, A&M will pursue Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher, saying that pursuing Fisher would make sense for Texas A&M, which has shown a willingness to spend big money to reach the elite level of college football.
