From the Chief: Be sure to have a happy Thanksgiving holiday

Many of us will be enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. After eating too much turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie, we will be also thinking of ways to burn off all those calories. One way to burn off those calories is by participating in the Village of Ruidoso’s annual Turkey Trot at the Links Saturday morning. Some however, will be braving the shops and stores looking for that idea gift for a loved one while taking advantage of the holiday sales.

Once you find that deal, let’s make sure you get to keep it. As you put items in your car, try to cover them up or put them out of sight. It’s best to lock all valuables inside the trunk of your vehicle. Make sure to lock your vehicle and if out at night, try to park in well lighted areas. If you do venture out, it is always a good idea to travel and shop with a friend or family member.

We want everyone to have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
