Ty Montgomery: Packers quarterback Brett Hundley is hungry to win

Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery co-hosted Monday's Clubhouse Live, USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin’s live weekly football show.

Q: How are your ribs feeling this week? Do you feel good about your chances to play against the Steelers?

Montgomery: I can't make that promise, but I'm doing everything I can. My body just needs to heal. When it's time, and the medical team is cool with it, then I'll go from there. But trust me, I want to be out there just as bad as you want to see me out there.

Q: You suffered a 23-0 setback to the Ravens on Sunday at Lambeau Field and have dropped four of your last five games to fall to 5-5 on the season. What's Mike McCarthy like as a leader in times of adversity? How does he keep the locker room from fracturing when the times get really tough?

Montgomery: I think he's very encouraging, and he always tries to keep everything positive. He always comes up with a theme of the week to try to get us to buy into something, to get us all on the same page. He's always telling us to just believe in one another and trust in one another and trust the process. I think he's a good leader.

Q: Brett Hundley struggled against the Ravens with three interceptions and a fumble. What's your sense on how he's feeling from a mental standpoint? What are you seeing from your quarterback right now?

Montgomery: He's hungry. He wants to win just as much - if not more - than anyone else. I'm sure he feels the responsibility to go out there and make sure that we win the football game. ... He's doing everything he can to figure it out and make sure that come game time, all the pieces are in the right place. 

Q: Jamaal Williams rushed for 57 yards on 18 carries against Baltimore. Do you feel like he's growing more comfortable as his rookie season progresses?

Montgomery: I thought he played well. The one thing that I love about all the other running backs - the young guys, especially - is they seem to (be) comfortable, and I love the fact that you can see Jamaal's personality in his play. Jamaal runs like Jamaal. Jamaal plays like Jamaal. And when Jamaal makes a play, Jamaal celebrates like Jamaal. And I love seeing the passion, and I love seeing Jamaal when he's doing his thing out there. I was pumped for him.
