Seymour native Ty Majeski finished 10th in the NASCAR Xfinity Series finale Saturday in his third start.

Seymour native Ty Majeski will be one of three Ford development drivers sharing Roush Fenway Racing’s No. 60 Mustang in the NASCAR Xfinity Series next season, the team announced Monday.

Austin Cindric and Chase Briscoe also will take turns in the car, which is scheduled to race the full season. The two competed full-time in the Camping World Truck Series this year for Brad Keselowski Racing, which closed at the end of the season. Penske Racing, with which BKR was affiliated, will collaborate with Ford and Roush on the Xfinity car.

Majeski, 23,  finished a personal best 10th in the Xfinity Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway in his third start. Majeski also worked with Roush Fenway in engineering and as a shock specialist.

Outside of NASCAR he won his fourth consecutive ARCA Midwest Tour title and 20 of the 32 super-late model races he entered this year.

“Driver development has always been part of our DNA at Roush Fenway and Jack Roush has always taken pride in providing opportunities for up and coming drivers,” Roush Fenway president Steve Newmark said in the announcement.

“All three of these drivers have exhibited a great deal of potential on and off the track and it’s going to be a lot of fun to watch as they hone their skills together and grow into the next generation of champions in our sport.”

Roush Fenway veteran Mike Kelley, who helped guide Ricky Stenhouse Jr. to a pair of NXS championships, will serve as crew chief on the car.

Cindric, 19, has won races in rallycross, IMSA, ARCA, the NASCAR K&N Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. He reached the championship round of the truck playoffs as a rookie this season.

Briscoe, 22, the 2016 ARCA champion, finished sixth in the points standings in his NCWTS rookie season, winning the Homestead finale.

Further details of the planned drivers will be announced after Thanksgiving, the team said.
