Packers activate Jason Spriggs, Joe Kerridge; Bryan Bulaga placed on IR

GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers boosted their roster to the maximum 53 players allowed with a pair of transactions Saturday.

The Packers activated offensive tackle Jason Spriggs from injured reserve and promoted fullback Joe Kerridge from the practice squad. They also sent right tackle Bryan Bulaga to injured reserve.

Bulaga had remained on the active roster even after tearing the ACL in his right knee against the Detroit Lions on Nov. 6.

Because the Packers did not immediately replace the spot vacated when tight end Martellus Bennett was released with a failure to disclose medical condition designation this month, the Packers entered last Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears with only 52 players on their roster. It’s why they were able to place two players on their active roster while only removing one.

Spriggs tore his hamstring in the Packers' season opener against the Seattle Seahawks and has not played since.
