Eloy Rios-Vasquez, 36, of Oxnard, was found dead Tuesday morning along Calleguas Road, a farm road nestled in orchards near Highway 101 and Camarillo Springs Road, authorities said.

Deputy medical examiner Brian Applegate said it appeared that a vehicle had rolled over Rios-Vasquez who died from blunt force injuries.

Rios-Vasquez's employer, Oxnard-based agriculture company Reiter Brothers Inc., issued a statement Tuesday saying it was "cooperating fully" with investigators.

The Oxnard man's body was found sometime after 7:45 a.m. when Ventura County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene, authorities said.

Rios-Vasquez was pronounced dead at the scene.

California Highway Patrol investigators also responded to the incident but handed the case to the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health when it was determined that the death was due to an industrial incident.

Cal-OSHA has six months from the date of the incident to issue citations for workplace safety and health violations if any are found.
