Ruidoso Middle School cheerleaders go all out for Toys for Tots.

The money will be directed to children in need in Lincoln County and on the Mescalero Apache Reservation adjoining Ruidoso.

On Dec. 2, the cheerleaders will participate in the Festival of Lights Parade. People can bring new unwrapped toys and leave them on the float.

On Dec. 16, the third annual a 90-second shopping spree at Albertson's will be sponsored by MTD Radio at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 each or three for $10 and can be purchased at the store in Sierra Mall on Mechem Drive in Ruidoso. A person must be present to win.

On Dec. 17, new unwrapped toys of at least $10 in value can be brought all day to Ruidoso Winter Park and donors can tube for free.

Tickets also are still on sale for $100 to participate in a raffle for a 1972 Baracuda. The project was begun in May and organizers Victor Montes and Julian Flores hoped to wrap it up by Christmas, but the date may be extended with the money raised going into the Toys for Tots pot for next year.
