Flying to London this morning? Check before you leave home. #UKStorm

Compulsory reductions in flights to/from Heathrow, Gatwick, City and Stansted appear to be in place. This is a scheme whereby airline get to choose their own cancellations or delays.

United appear to be delaying most of its East Coast -> Heathrow flights by several hours in order to meet this requirement for example.

Newark flights are operating up to 4 hours late with UA110 scheduled to leave at 6.50pm, now scheduled at 10,51pm. UA29 due out at 8.25pm is now due out at 12.45a. On time is only UA940, which will be leaving 13 minutes later than its scheduled departure of 11.10pm. So check your flights!

At present the Heathrow Express is planning a 30 minute service, taking 30 minutes to get to Paddington:

Journey times will take approximately 30 minutes to and from Heathrow. Services from Paddington will depart at 10 & 40 minutes past each hour, services from Terminal 5 will depart at 27 & 57 minutes past each hour. Services after 10.10am are scheduled to operate normally.

The MetOffice has increased the warning for Winds in the region to Amber, which is higher than Yellow where it has been previously.

There is heavy rain currently in North London, I can report by looking out of my windows! This is the precursor to the wind.
