Dwyane Wade was soaked in new Nike NBA jersey

Andrew Joseph

Nike's NBA jerseys have already shown a puzzling tendency to rip in pieces at the slightest pull, but that might not be the only issue with the NBA's new uniforms.

Judging from Dwyane Wade's reaction during Sunday's game against the Atlanta Hawks, the new jerseys aren't exactly absorbing sweat the way he's used to.

As the broadcast zoomed in on Kevin Love, Wade could be seen on the bench complaining about the jersey and in utter disbelief about how soaked he was.

Seriously, Wade looked like he had jumped into a pool.

Leading up to the season, Nike discussed how its engineering team tested the jersey materials with NBA players and took feedback.

To figure out exactly how to create a uniform that would run, cut and jump with each player, as well as to gather information on temperature regulation, the team put in countless hours of rigorous testing, including everything from snag and burst testing to pilling and wash testing, as well as creating atlas maps - a process that involves taking a digital body scan to evaluate sweat zones, contact zones and where basketball players need full range of motion.

Perhaps Wade was not included in this study because something about the jersey clearly wasn't working for him on Sunday.
